Originally, Marie Louise Cécilie Emma Lajeunesse taking her professional name from Albany, New York

where she spent her early life.

Pupil of Lamperti. Highly rated as opera and oratorio soprano singer.

She retired in 1911 and then spent time teaching.

Awarded D.B.E. in 1925.
