Panis Angelicus - for choir, organ, clarinet and guitar - written for Lorenzo Magro and the Duo Musaikon

The Fallow Deer at the lonely house (tenor and alto a-cappella)

(a lullaby for anyone at any age....)

Song to Idleness - my first ever choral piece - recently revised, published and performed. Score and new recording available here

Just back from an excellent time in Treviso (extremely well fed with traditional home cooking :-)) - plans are well advanced for further collaboration with Alessandro Balsimini, following rehearsals in the hotel room there - which at least one guest said she enjoyed (!). We are just completing revised more accurate editions of various songs, incorporating detailed fingering and tempo variations. These new editions will be online once we have completed our recordings, but if anyone wants to acquire advance copies of the revised editions of "Songs of Solomons" and of the Yiddish songs, please email me.

My music published with Da Capo Music Ltd is now available direct from the publisher in paper copy or from MyScoreStore in downloadable pdf format.

As of 12 December 2007 I have retired from staff translator work and will be operating mainly as a composer and occasional performer, but I shall also be providing translations when required in the fields of customs, tax and music, on a freelance basis: my Proz (professional translator) profile

Meanwhile I have been busy composing for various combinations, concentrating mainly on guitar and clarinet duos - the fruits of which will become evident quite soon.

Spring and Summer 2007:
The very latest updates don't include recordings (yet) but they are full of Italian promise:
Following a trip to Montecchio in Umbria (Italy),where Alessandro Balsimini (guitar) and Davide Compostella (clarinet) did some wonderful performances of my Petticoat Lane, Bell Dance and three of the Jewish Dances, during a concert of choral pieces performed by Duncan Saunderson's choir the Summertown Choral Society (in which I sang with the altos), I have been busy writing more works for the guitar (for Alberto Mesirca) and for guitar and clarinet (for Alessandro and Davide).
The results of these endeavours (including some Jewish music for Pesach 2008) will be revealed in due course.... watch this space!
