Born in Berkshire.
A holiday trip 1960 turned into a permanent stay in former East Germany and she subsequently studied violin and composition with Manfred Weiss at the “Carl Maria von Weber Hochschule fur Musik “ in Dresden, prior to working as both a music teacher and a violinist in the Freiberg Theater Orchestra and the Dresden Operetta Theater. Following her return to the UK in 1984 she continued to work as an instrumental tutor.
1995 she completed her MA in composition at De Montfort University, studying with Gavin Bryars. She has now completed her PhD at the Birmingham Conservatoire.
“Parody “ for two pianos and two percussion players was commissioned by “Klammer 4” and given its first performance 1996 in Karlsruhe Germany.
String Quartet No 3, “ Dark Adagio” won the 1999 Birmingham Chamber music composition prize, and received its premiere, by the Vellinger Quartet.
1998 “Appassionato” , cello sonata, commissioned by Sharon McKinley and Duncan Honeybourne.
Two orchestral works; “Destiny” and “ From Dark to Light” was performed and premiered by the Moravian Philharmonic orchestra, Czech Republic as part of the Vienna Modern Masters festival, June 2000 and June 2001.

String Quartet no 4 , has won the Almira String Quartet competition for 2002, and “Song of Pan” was performed in Italy at the International conference in Teramo 2002.
2004 awarded graduation composition prize, and performance of the fifth movement of 2nd symphony in June.
Her piano concerto; 'Within Reflecting Echoes' was performed on 9th May at Frazer Noble Hall ; orchestra ULS ,soloist Duncan Honeybourne
