New compositions in 2008
The following compositions are notated using Finale 2008 with "electronic previews" created with Garritan. As electronic previews go, they are pretty lifelike ....
"Ballade"
for clarinet and guitar
A romantic ramble reminiscent of Gershwin, and using chord formations harking back to my earlier compositions from the love-lorn 1970s (e.g "Virgo and Taurus")

for string quartet
The character depicted here enjoys various unformed ideas running through the subconscious, which rise occasionally but all too briefly into consious thought (the pizzicatos), only to sink back into the snoozing state, luxuriating in the knowledge that it's not time to get up yet...
